Are you a candidate for a surgery to treat chronic Achilles tendon pain? Strayer?
Просмотров 7498 месяцев назад
having pain at the insertion of the Achilles tendon is a constant hindrance to resuming normal activities. When physical therapy, heel lifts, avoiding barefoot or flat sandals, does not seem to work any longer, then having a surgery certainly is a good option. This is not the same as a painful Haglund's deformity. A true painful large bump would surgically need to be excised. In the Strayer pro...

Excellent
I’m never eating pork again.
Ahh. Thx for the “how to”-style video! “Ok gramma you can come in and lay down I found a tutorial!” 🤣 Jokes aside it’s crazy to see how “rough” they are being actually, really gives me a feeling they know what they are doing. No hesitation just ok this looks like that, let’s cut that toe of. Ah here we got some of this, let’s remove the tendons. I would be scared out of my ass of making a mistake. Big respect 🫡
Same!!!
It works, plus a couple of additional stretches. My pain subsided by 85% after 2 stretches. Thank you for sharing.
My bf just lost half his foot because he doesn't look after his diabetes. You can't describe the steanch. I couldn't stay in the same room without gagging. My hat go's of the the drs and nurses that care for these patients. The moment my friend came out of surgery it was completely gone. He go's for regular checks up s and manages his diabetes well now.
This reminds me of my late wife's foot. The wound was big enough to show the little foot bones and cartilage. It was hollowed out. She developed pneumonia, which delayed an amputation. She died from the infection that overtook her entire body. The last week/ two weeks of her life was terrible, with her organs failing one after the other. Diabetes patients must be vigilant to keep themselves healthy. Listen to your doctors, lose weight and exercise.
Casually throws out that” Infectious Disease requests a sample of tissue “,and the DR is just ok ,yep right on that.. like it’s just another Tuesday at work…😂😅
I appreciate all the doctors like Dr. Kolodenker. 6 years ago I had a similar procedure on my left foot. I was indeed septic when I arrived at emergency and spent the next 2 weeks being treated for MRSA and 2 surgeries on the left foot.
❤ COULD YOU HAVE USED STERILE MAGGOT?
How long does it take to heal? I'm going on a month now 😩
What was the decision behind not amputating the foot? If the bacteria is aggressive and the patient is diabetic with poor healing and circulation would amputating not be better for long term and cut down on healing time?
Preserving the foot in cases where a below-the-knee amputation (BKA) might be considered can significantly enhance the patient's quality of life. Keeping the foot not only eliminates the need for a prosthetic but also contributes to a longer life expectancy. Studies have shown that patients who retain their foot generally experience better overall health outcomes compared to those who undergo a BKA.
ok nice! what shoe is that
Asics
I feel bad for that patient. Wishing them a speedy recovery.
They are doing very well. You can see the video of them all healed and walking in the description section
So satisfying to watch 😀.
I am glad this vids are posted, I do enjoy watching them... the human body is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
❤❤❤❤
OMG 🤢
This is one of the many reasons I have told my diabetic family members to be careful. I have to be careful to despite not having it but I am at risk due to my family history.

Recently i was really prepared for this video. If you take a look how doctors do really hard work. Surgery its almost dramatically hard work. And feels myself so disgusting when i had watched this video. We all biological creatures in this world. What actually mother nature did for us. This is our biological body full of blood inside our bodies. But doesn't matter who we are!! We need to proud about our self this is an amazing this our life. We are living We are breathing by using our lungs. Take a look this video!!
These people saves lifes everyday im proud of people like you sir s
I didn’t catch his reason for removing the metatarsals if they were healthy. Can someone explain?
The epitome of evolution ❤
I would faint omg
wow lots of cross contamination!
I totally enjoyed this highly informative video. I have often thought of becoming a surgeon and being able to help those in need of care. However im sure that the smell of necrotic tissue would be my downfall. I understand completely why services such as these are quite pricey, as they require many years of constant schooling and other training. Thanks very much for sharing this awesome video. im
As a mother losing just my big toe was hard on me. Believe me, I counted my blessings it wasn't my life that was lost. I started going septic. Friday I had an appointment w my new family doctor. By Tuesday, I was hospitalized w an ulcer under my big toe infected. Swelled up to twice its size and was turning blue. I didnt want to go to the hospital, my whole body hurt so bad w chills and a fever. The next day I lost that toe. What hurt was thinking back to the day I was born. My mom probably counted each finger and toe. I had them all. Now, I was one less. Don't know why I obsessed over that thought. Now, with Ozempic my blood sugars are remarkably lower. Im 180 pounds. Yes I want to be 120 and normal. But I give so much respect to people 300 pounds or so that get it together and get down in weight. It's hard. Praying I dont have more to go through. Im so embarrassed and never go without my socks around people. And I love barefoot!

enjoyed watching your videos, Doc! so interesting.
Omgoodness! At first I thought I'd have to click it off. I made myself watch this! Why does this happen?
I have no idea why this came up on my recommended. I watched the whole thing. I sat here and didnt move once the entire video. 👏👏well done doc. That all came together nicely. Almost like you visualized the incision points to make sure they lined up.
I’m just watching this my stomach tougher than I thought
Just removed the big toe nbd

As someone with type one, take care of ya got damn diabetes or End up like that
Why did it get like that?
Thank you for keeping this simple.
Look after your feet people
I recently had an emergency pinky toe removal due to an infected sore on the bottom of my foot. I am diabetic. I went in on a Sunday afternoon, was admitted to the hospital and was given NO wound care until I was operated on until Wednesday of that week, I was Septic and was given 6, IV Antibiotics. Due to all of the antibiotics, Tuesday morning I had a bowel accident. The nurses made me clean up in the shower, in feces ridden water, while I stepped in it with my open sore/infection with no help from them. The floor Doctor would not order wound care, just left my foot open to whatever. No bandages, not even a saline clean up! They called in an Infectious Disease Doctor and then finally after a "supposed" mix up with putting in for a Surgical Consultation, a Surgeon finally showed up first thing on Wednesday morning and I was in surgery within 6 hours. The Surgeon was horrified finding out what I had been going through and said I should have been operated on no later that Monday afternoon! I am wondering if I had had that surgery, would I have lost my pinky toe. My healing process is taking forever and tomorrow I go back to the surgeon for a 2nd after surgery visit. I had only some stitches removed last week as my surgical wound was still not closing very fast. Hopefully tomorrow the surgical wound has healed more and I can get the rest of the stitches removed. Mind you I had my surgery a month ago now.
I found this just crazy how you can just cut off a toe like that then just pop it on a table
Amazing Video
What about ozone therapy for a wound like this? To the affected area? If hydrogen peroxide works... ? If you don't want oxygen.. ? Just curious.
I've never heard of ozone therapy. Hydrogen peroxide can help kill anaerobic bacteria. Upon discharge, hyperbaric oxygen is an option...if covered by insurance.
